BMX RACING has been an Olympic event since 2008, with its history dating back to the 1960s. It consists of a simultaneous race between 8 competitors on a specially designed and constructed track. Participants, equipped with helmets and protective gear, start the race from a gate located on a starting hill. The track length ranges from 350-450 m, and the ride time is typically between 30-40 seconds.

The track's biggest advantages are its speed and spectacular nature, combined with a high level of safety.

TERRAIN REQUIREMENTS

The site for a BMX racing track should be flat or slightly sloped. The minimum area for this investment is approx. 0.5 ha (optimal dimensions are 70m x 110m). To this specified area, one can add space for additional infrastructure such as parking lots, a race office, and other buildings.

To ensure fair competition and great excitement for the audience, the track width, the length of the first straight, the entire track length, and the surface properties are strictly defined by UCI (International Cycling Union) regulations. At the same time, the type of obstacles, their placement, the course layout, and the number of turns are flexible and depend solely on the designer. This makes every track unique.
